If you had something else in mind, I’d say change the major. However, you don’t. So don’t worry about it. Do well in your classes, and try to do an internship or co-op in a field you think you might be interested in – journalism or not. Maybe something somewhat related, like marketing.

When you graduate, so long as you went to a decent school and got a bachelor’s degree, no one will care that it was in journalism. It’s a liberal arts degree, and you’ll be just as qualified for any entry level job (so long as you did that internship) as anyone else coming out with a liberal arts degree. So don’t obsess.

Again, if you find something you prefer, then change. Otherwise, don’t worry too much.

First you need to ask yourself what you want to do with the degree and if you find yourself leaning towards radio then I would check into a trade school or maybe even an internship at one of your local radio stations.

When I first got into radio after my trade school experience…I got hired above 5 other “radio personalities” which of whom had degrees in broadcasting. When I was hired at the time I asked the program director why he hired me over the degree holders and he had told me it was because I sounded better and I was already trained for the job and that degrees, although nice to have, are not what you look for when hiring “radio personalities”.

So anyways…there are a lot out there that train for all areas of broadcasting. But not matter where you go make sure that the school you attend is nationally accredited. That way you can get financial aid and you know that your money is actually going for your education! Also when checking into broadcasting schools…make sure they don’t give you a line like “you have to try out” or “wow…you sound good…I’m going to give you a scholarship”…all they want is your money. They could care less if you get a job or not.

I personally attended the American Broadcasting School. (which is nationally accredited) and I have had a wonderful and successful career for over 10 years now!

Hope this has helped you a little bit. Good luck with your decision!

If you don’t love it, then you should change it! Remember, you can go to school during the summer and take other courses to fulfill the requirement for some other major. Also, keep in mind that you don’t have to graduate in 4 years! You can stay there for an extra semester or one extra year. Give some other majors some thought! Maybe there’s something you really like besides Journalism.

no longer in 4 years. There are not plenty or any instructions your final 2 years that double count huge type for pc engineering and employer. The undergraduate catalog ought to declare 4 years yet engineering on my own is 4 a million/2 to 5 years. relatively via fact that an engineering internship is great journey and stable money. seem on the undergraduate catalog for the college you prefer to pass to and notice what appropriate instructions are needed for the two majors. you may then plan out precisely how long it is going to take to get the two ranges.

Take as many classes in different subjects as you can, try different jobs. You are still young, you can still try many different careers. You do not have to settle on one just yet.
