we are in the same dilemma as i am contemplating on taking my Masters. based on the advice that i read, you should talk about the course that you are going to take with passion. you don’t need highfalutin words. they don’t need pompous paragraphs without sense at all. talk about how you can contribute to the field of your choice, for the greater benefit of humanity, etc.

also what are your motivations, goals, aspirations, etc. they also would want to read about an all around, normal person so it is okay to talk about your hobbies, interests, etc. just make sure to be able to relate them to your course choice.

make sure that you get all the spellings write as well as the grammar. Good luck!

Personal statements give the administrators a glimpse into how your mind works and thinks, how your write, do you write well enough to do college level work, see a spark of interest in your subject matter, and to just see if you have the drive to write the essay in the first place. Draw them in….write about something you know really, really well. You will write with enthusiasm on this topic. Proofread really well. Edit and proofread a few more times.

in simple terms some colleges require a private fact. some require in simple terms a single essay, some require an essay plus numerous “rapid take” questions, and a few require an essay and a private fact.
