If my brother is currently enrolled and doing well at NYU does that give me a better chance of getting in?

Just wondering. Currently my brother is a Junior there. He is performing quite well, I am not sure of his GPA, though.

Chances are no. They’ll probably ask you if a family member is already attending but I don’t think it has that much influence over whether or not they would choose you.

I don’t think that it matters whether or not your brother is in NYU or not. It really depends on your application and your GPA. So no, it wouldn’t give you a higher chance of getting in. If you were planning on going there, I would recommend that you try to keep up your GPA and work really hard.
