Get your friends together; find out what they want to do. Idea what I did, myself and 4 of my buddies got together and found out how much it would be for us to take for us to spend 1 month in Europe and off we went. We worked during the School year to save the money we need and we left for 1 month to Europe. When we got back we enjoyed the rest of July. 3 weeks before College started we took a road trip from Colorado to Florida and sat on the beach for a week!

You should contact the school you will be attending in the fall to make sure your credit transfers. Generally, most community college credits can transfer, especially in general subjects, but you need to double check beforehand. If you do take this class, it may factor into your GPA or it might just count as transfer credit with no actual letter grade. The registrar’s office should be able to tell you these things. Like an earlier poster said, you will take a placement test before to find out what math class you should start at. This is another thing to think about when transferring credits.

well, since you want to possibly work with kids, I would find a job maybe in a children’s hospital, or day care, somewhere where you can be around kids. If you go the children’s hospital route, be prepared, I worked in a pediatric ward, and some of the horrors I seen (babies thrown down stairs by their parents, etc) that would curl your already curly hair! It gives you a good perspective though on how many children are really out there that need someone to take care of them. Plus having a job will help you save money for a car!

I took the fall semester off and worked for six months. It was an education of a different sort, and made me appreciate college much more when I started.

I am in a similar situation, and next summer I plan to go on vacation and travel…I think that would be the best choice.

Go somewhere you havent been, like another country… I think it would be a mind-opening experience.

I wouldn’t recommend what I did unless it is necessary – I had to take care of my brothers and sisters. However, if you get a chance to travel a little before college, that is what I would recommend.
