The science subjects would be a start, such as biology and chemistry.

You definetly want to concentrate on the math and sciences. The more advanced level courses you take, the better. Courses like calculus, trig, algebra, physics, chemistry, biology, are all courses that will help you better prepare for college and med school. I would say at least 4 years of science courses, and 3 years of math, in the advanced levels, will give you a better chance at getting accepted to a good college, and better prepare you for the medical field. English and literature cant hurt either.

Take lots of science classes, something I wished I had done in high school. Take biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy and physiology, etc and also math classes like pre-cal and calculus so you will know some of it when you go to college,…try to take Ap and Honors if you can, cuz it looks good, but to reinforce, I’d take those same classes in college so you’ll do well and you will already know the material, and will do well the second time.

Take all the science courses you can. Math is also important. If you have any electives related to medicine, take those. You shouldn’t pick things like home ec or journalism or take the easy electives. Challenge yourself and be well-rounded. Sample a little bit of everything but focus mainly on science and math.
