What computer science colleges do you suggest?

It’s coming to be that time of year for me to find a college. I’m a very open minded person so I don’t mind very much about the specfics. However, I do want to get into the best college that I can get into possible with my credits. A quick idea of my test scores is an SAT score of 2090 (650R, 750M, 690W). My weighted G.P.A. is around 3.5.

Look for programs that have full accreditation for their computer science programs (not just for the university as a whole, but for the program specifically) through Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET (BS degree). In the Northwest, for example, I know of only a few programs that have full accreditation: for example Pacific Lutheran, UW, and WSU.

Clearly, a student of your caliber should seek to be in an environment that is undergraduate student focused and provides a lot of interaction with a teaching faculty (not teaching assistants).

You might be able to get into Carnegie Mellon, which is actually one of the very top places. Unfortunately, the other obvious ones, like Caltech, MIT, Cornell, and Stanford, probably won’t take you with your grades, unless your high school has very high standards, and a 3.5 actually corresponds to a good rank in class.

try CIT (it’s in california) or MIT. MIT is probably like the harder one to get into but they are both on the top ten list.
