Will my dad’s donation get me into college?
My dad went to a big university. He donates to the engineering school, but I want to go to the school of arts. These are different schools under the same university. Will the admissions office of the school of arts know about my dad’s contributions to the engineering school?

If he gives enough money, they’ll find out about it, if it’s the kind of school that cares. Some schools admit the best students, regardless of family donations. If he’s just giving $100 a year or so, then it won’t help you much regardless.

was he an alum? they will know about alums in your family and if his contributions are big enough i’m sure that they will register this as well.
i’d say that it can’t hurt your chances!
