School work should always come first. If you have a paper due on Monday but you know its going to take you 3 days to do… then you just don’t go out on Friday, Sat., Sun. I’ve seen too many people fall into the trap of ‘oh i just go out on weekends” and they still fail because they didn’t put in enough time on a project or a paper.

You have to be an adult and judge how much time you need to spend on your project or paper and don’t fall into the habit of saying “I work best under pressure.” People who wait to the last minute fail or at best they end up getting a “c”.

Now that’s a loaded question. I don’t know of a way to study and have fun at the same time, especially if you’re trying to get good grades. Studying is a serious matter. So, to get good grades in college (I’m an A student) here are some tips:

When taking notes in class, write down everything on the board. What instructors say might be on the test. If it’s important enough to write on the board, it most likely will be on the test. Always take good notes. Read the texts and highlight the important ideas you want to remember. Take notes from the book, too. On the night before the test read over your notes and the highlighted parts of your book, then go to bed and get a good night’s sleep.

When you get up, eat a good breakfast. When taking the test, give your brain some food and suck on a piece of hard candy (not sugar free). Never cram before a test. You can glance over your notes right before the test to keep the info fresh in your mind, but never cram. If you don’t know the information by this time, you never will, so don’t sweat what you don’t know.

And the most important thing to remember is that a test is not to see what you know… it’s a tool that the teacher uses to see how well he/she taught a certain point. If everyone does poorly on a certain question or group of questions then the instructor knows he/she did not do a very good job getting the message across.

Study groups help immensely. Being with people in your same class that have different perspectives will allow you to study in ways you would have never thought of on your own. Assign someone different each meeting to be the “monitor” though, because sometimes the groups can turn into parties and you will need a person to help the group “stay on track.” Almost nothing is fun while doing it alone, so get some people you connect with in your classes and schedule a study group with time afterward to “let off some steam.” I hope this has been helpful.

Study with a friend and every 10 minutes play a game. you could also work on making a game that has to do with what you are studying. When you are done studying the game should be done and you can play it!

Here is how it should work

> Study for 20 min

> work on game for 10 min

> Study for 20 min

> work on game for 10 min

> Study for 20 min

> work on game for 10 min

> Study for 20 min

> work on game for 10 min

> Study for 20 min

>keep going until the game is done.

an idea for a game is…..

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. (only without real money)

you make this game by writing out 15,30,45,60,75, or 90 questions and answers to the questions. they need to be in multiples of 15.( there are 15 levels.)

one person is the host and the other person is the answerer. the host gives questios to the answerer and if they get it right they advance to the next question. If they dont know the answer they can call in a life line. the life line would be their textbook or notes. they can do this on any question and its for 50 seconds. if they dont get it right then they lose. keep going until you get to the 15th level if you get it right you get a prize. keep doing this and studying can actually be fun!

go to the source below and play it yourself

take really detailed notes during class…then later that day go over the notes and study a little bit each night…this way you will know the stuff at the beginning of the chapter when the test comes along..

as for having fun while studying…try having friends over for a study party a couple days before the test…play jeopardy with the test questions!

BALANCE. You get out of school at what time, 3pm or something? How much sleep do you need at night and what time does school start for you in the morning? Sit down with a pen and a piece of paper (or your computer and open up a word document) and make out a time table in one hour increments for the time between getting out of school and bedtime. Example:

3:30pm: Math/Science study

4:30pm: English/Social studies Study

5:30pm: Dinner

6:30pm: Hang out at mall with friends

8:00pm: Review/double check all homework for the day

8:30pm: Watch TV

9:30pm/10:00pm: Go to bed

Kinda like that….if you have a tangible schedule in front of you and you work on it according to your own terms, you won’t seem so overwhelmed and you’ll still find time with your friends.

You could join or start a study group for students in your major and work together. That way you could get to know students with like interests and make studying less of a drudge.

1. Make flashcards of all the info you need to know with questions on one side and answers on the other.

2. Attach the flashcards to darts.

3. Put up a picture of someone you hate on a dart board on your wall

4. Look at the question and try to answer it in your head.

5. If you get it right, throw it at the dart board and mutilate the picture

6. if you get it wrong, put it at the bottom of the pile

7. Repeat as neccessary

you should learn how to manage your time. what i do is i know that the best time for me to have fun is at nights so i always try to do is i wake up early in the morning and study so hard and do what ever i need to do and then i have the rest of the day for me and at night before i go to bed i do short review, in my opinion you have to see whats work for you and then try to manage your time
