uc davis majoring in veterinary science?
i actually wanted to replace the AP history class with AP biology, but the school wouldnt let me because AP history is a required course. i dont see why though, because if you’re planning to major in anything BUT history, why do you have to take it? its just a waste of my time.

AP classes help you earn units in college towards graduation but usually does not help towards earning the units/classes required for your major. each major has it’s own required classes and each class usually have Prereq. that you have to take…..the AP class comes in helpful because sometimes you can have that prereq class waived (if you scored well on your AP test…usually a 4/5). but i wouldn’t count on history to waived anything cuz chances are the Vet program won’t have any “HIstory” in it. You might want to be looking more into Chemistry and Biology classes. Even if you do score well on those AP test…say a 4/5…chances are the AP class will just waived you from taking the placement test (for chemistry/ bio)and just allow you to get into the class.
if i were you i wouldn’t stress too much about it. just do well in your classes right now and try to do some extracurriculer activities and do a good job on your personal statement and you should be able to get in.
keep in mind though, UC Davis is well known for its Vet. program so it might be harder to get into that major. however i think you should be fine. take whatever you feel will prepare you more.
