Adam!

Am I doing the right A-Levels?

I have just started my A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and French after receiving my GCSE’s – 1A*, 3A’s, and 6B’s.

I’ve got a Saturday job as a Pharmacy assistant and I am thinking about studying Pharmacy at uni. I would like to know if I have made the right choice of subjects? and if I do change my mind about pharmacy, would these subjects allow me to go into other things, even if it was not scientific?

Thanks

Yes, you have the right subjects. For pharmacy, they generally want three A-levels, including chemistry, one other science or maths, and any other subject (which may be a third science).

There will certainly be other things besides sciences you could do with these A-levels (e.g. French or law), but it will be easiest for you to do sciences with this combination. Also, you couldn’t do physics or most engineering courses with this combination, because you aren’t taking maths. If you change your mind, there is always the option of a foundation year, as well.
