Should I transfer?

I’ve only been at my college for 2 weeks and i’m already thinking about transferring. It’s a relatively small school and the only thing that people do on weekends is go to these sketchy bars and night clubs. Kids here just seem so immature and I feel like i’m in high school. Can I still enjoy another school if I transfer or is it too late to fit in somewhere else?

I think you should stick it out at least for this semester. Honestly, it’s probably too late to transfer to another institution at this point. Most schools have either already started or their application deadlines have passed. How much of a refund do you qualify for if you were to drop out of your classes at this point? Check with Registrar’s Office on the refund dates.

Given these conditions, I think you should stay at your current school. You might want to look into submitting applications for other schools for the Spring term. Keep in mind that some school may have early deadlines for the next term.

I’m sure there are other students that feel the same as you. Get involved in clubs. I’m sure there are other activities that you can participate in instead of going to bars and night clubs. Volunteer at a local charity or get a part-time job.

Hang in there. You’re going through an adjustment period. You’ll come into your own soon. Just give it a chance.

Best wishes!

YA sounds like your need to transfer to another school. Because this one is giving your free time on the weekends to worry about what there is to do when you should be doing homework 🙂

By the way all school are like that unless you go to a community college with older students.

Kitchen_Diva yes it’s a mix unlike university where it’s mostly 18-24.. Are you trying to say a 24 year old has more maturity than a 18 year old? That’s a laugh.

I agree you should give it a bit more than two weeks. The semester is young, and people will usually start to settle down, especially when the homework starts pouring in.

YoHo. I go to a community college with a mix of a mature and young students. Trust me age of the students doesnt always affect the way they spend their weekends. Plenty of the students my age and older (im 24) go out and party, right along side the 18-21 crowd especially at the beginning of the school year.

Give it a bit more than 2 weeks. We were just talking today about how at the beginning of the year, it seems that everyone goes a bit wild. Eventually they calm down and get into other activities.
