Which class is easier, Elementary Statistics or PreCal?

I have taken precal and dropped it after the first test TWICE. Math is my hardest subject and now am intimidated by it. I have never taken Elementary Statistics, but some people say it is easier. I just need one more math for my degree and I am done with the math part.

Which one do you recommend or not recommend and why?

Elementary Statistics would be easier, because those who usually take basic statistics courses will typically have a background in college algerbra. There are quite a bit more statistics courses that don’t require too much math, but require the intro. stat courses.

At my univeristy, the statistic courses that junior/senior level statistics a majors take… require a calculus background. I took a course like that when I finished Calculus 3.

FYI, statistics is an appilied math, so there is not much rigor until you get to the graduate level. In fact, anyone with a 4 year degree in math could get into a graduate statistics program.
