The Air Force is a good option for someone out of high school. My brother went in because he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do, and by giving the Air Force 4 years, he’s going to get a lot, if not all of his college paid for. Also, if you stay in for 20 years till retirement, you can get a VERY nice pension which will allow for a nice income, and also allows you to be able to be able to go do something else when you’re around 40 years old. I would have gone into the AF if I didn’t have a couple of physical deterants. But I really feel it’s a great way to go. And the first year will definitley help you get yourself into a lot better shape. After that, you are tested once a year on a couple mile run. It’s nothing too physically exhausting. Good luck! 🙂

The Air Force is the best option. They are military support and not fighters. The best decision is to be an officer because they are paid better, treated better but can have a lot of responsiblities. Best, if you are a clean cut kind of guy that doesn’t have a problem with authority. Drugs, bad checks (finances), married women can get you into a lot of trouble. Drinking and driving charges can destroy you. Exercise is not that big a deal but you must get in habit of doing it. There is a test twice a year not once. There is a higher percentage of unreasonable people, some which will be your boss. They expect you to buy new uniforms alot which can be a burden. You will move alot and your belongings get lost, broke or stolen, mostly stolen. You have to keep your weight down and will have heavy peer pressure to comform to a norm. If you’re the right person, it is great, if not, the term for it is “hating life.”

I am little lost here. You want to join air force and also to be civil engineer? or you are not sure to be civil engineer or to join the air force?

If you want to join the air force, what do you want to be in there? You want to be a pilot, ground crew, air defence, etc?

You need to know first, what you want to be in the air force.

EXERCISE and all, not an issue as you can always start now with some basic foundation and once you are in there, build on that foundation.

My nephew went to college on an AF-ROTC scholarship and is now serving as an officer in the Air Force. It has been very good for him and he has done very well both academically in college and in all the training he has received, getting many honors along the way. I don’t know if he plans to make a career of it but what he brings out of the service will take him a long way in civilian life.

My husband grew to become right into somewhat over-weight whilst he joined the Air rigidity. He grew to become into DEP for merely approximately 3 months waiting for an beginning into BMT, so he had lots of time to get it off. He grew to become into in elementary terms 15 pounds over the load decrease, so he dropped 25 to get solid and decrease than it. you apart from could could remember that while you’re muscular, then the load decrease does not inevitably prepare. it fairly is the place the physique fat share is supplied in. i’m valuable you will do super. merely paintings fairly not elementary and opt to it a hundred%.

my brother joined the air force when he was 17.. he wasn’t much of an athlete either.. but he went through boot camp and went on to finding as position in the military.. he was in supply.. and eventually grew to the rank of staff sargent.. he retired in twenty years.. he was 37 when he retired.. he is now 63.. and he is dammed proud of the twenty years he put in the service and even prouder of all the retirement benefits he has recieved for the last 26 years… free medical for himself and his family.. some sales tax benefits by buying on the post near him and that nearly two grand a month he receives each and every month.. my advice to you..join.. and apply yourself to the task.. whether you stay in long enough to retire..or not.. it is a great way to get an engineering education and be paid to do it.. good luck

For the exercise issue — if you want to live a life without health problems you’ll need to do that anyway. Don’t let it be an obstacle (or excuse) not to join.
