As to whether the world will benefit from a BBA, although I ended up going the academic route, I would say that it will benefit more than most people realize. While you probably won’t be the one to cure cancer or end wars, every enterprise out there which is doing good needs to be managed effectively. As long as your focus is on something beyond your personal income, you can benefit the world. You can work in tandem with those who have great inventions or those who have the skills to deliver good directly, and make sure that these things are done in such a way that they can be shared with the world. Think about pharmaceutical companies. While they are often criticized for greed, without them, there wouldn’t be the life-saving drugs that ARE available to us today. Banks? Think of the projects they can finance for development of schools, hospitals, etc. Furthermore, every company is in a position to hire individuals, giving people work with which they can maintain their own human dignity and support their families.
