senioritis is killing me…should i still be working to try to improve my grades?…?

Ok so here’s the case, I have a 3.7 unweighted GPA, took 2 AP classes and an honor’s math class in junior year, 1250 SATs (taking it again in october). I know i should still be working hard in school but i dont know if it really matters all that much…after all colleges only look at the first 3 yrs of your transcript right…But will it affect my chances of getting into a good school if they see my grades slip…

senioritis killing me already too. not a suprise… i already skipped so many days! i am kinda trying.. still doing homework. im going to like freaking screw everything once i get the acceptance letter and im applying early decision and ill get my letter in december. so right after december i quit for good ; )

it seems like ur going to apply to selective schools in that case u should keep ur grades up at least until second semester. u dont want to risk your acceptance or maybe a awesome scholarship.

“…after all colleges only look at the first 3 yrs of your transcript right…”

That is incorrect. If you apply early admission or decision they see your first quarter from your senior year. For normal decision they see your first two from your senior year on your applicaiton. So, you must work continually though at LEAST the first two quarters.

“But will it affect my chances of getting into a good school if they see my grades slip…”

Exactly, if you let your grades slip, well that college or uni will take your money and run. If you want to do [and I wouldn’t recommend it], you can easy up a bit once and if you recieve an acceptance and replied back to the college or university. For example, don’t spend those extra fifteen minutes studying, things like that. Though, don’t give up completely, it would be ridiculous if you got a fantastic scholarship, only to get it revoked because you got lazy.

I don’t recommend giving up at all.

Ask Tracy, she has the answer..
Not true anymore. Colleges pay close attention to your senior year — even the second semester. Even if you’ve done well in your first three years of high school, colleges want to be sure that you’re focused on your academic career.

P.S. It’s September, how the hell do you have Senioritis already?

i’m in the same boat. i can’t believe im wanting to start slacking off already…it’s only the first semester. my guidance counselor told me that colleges nowadays are paying quite a bit of attention to your senior schedule, and every application that i’ve filled out so far has asked for the classes im taking this year. so i think we’re just gonna have to try to fight off this senioritis and stay focused.

You’d better work your tail off until you get the acceptance letter to the school of your choice. After that, you can relax!
