Because in the English Language, the quantity implies the plural, except in the case of unity.

This part of the English words of Maths was imported into the English Language from Arabic culture.

because it is an active state. thats what ive been told in my ethics class.zero points, means none now, but later maybe, and it can change at any time. same for temperature.

Put “no” in its place. No degrees. You wouldn’t say “No degree”.
