SAT score and university?

Any ideas of where i should apply? (both liberal arts college and university)

I’m an international student- non US citizen, and my SAT score is around 1800s (the first time i took it) and i’m taking it again in oct. n also taking SAT IIs in nov.

english isn’t my first language, i speak english, thai, chinese, taiwanese fluenly and a bit french. i’m in two varsity sports, basketball and soccer- i play piano and flute, and i’m involved in clubs and activities. This is my 4th year in the student government, and i was elected as a treasurer before. My GPA is around 3.85, and by the time of graduation, i would’ve taken 7 AP courses- and i’m also an ap scholar with distinction.

Im not very sure of what i want to study, maybe engineering, but not sure yet- that’s why i’m considering liberal arts college too. And i’m looking for scholarships and financial aid too.

Any suggestions and ideas of where i should apply?

THANKS

Your grades and SAT scores are pretty high — so you should be able to get into some very good universities. However, you are not quite up to the standards of the elite schools — so schools like Ivy League universities, MIT, Duke and Stanford are a bit of a stretch for you.

If you are interested in Engineering, then there is some good news for you. Engineering is the one field where the better public universities are as good or better than the elite private schools. Georgia Tech, UC-Berkeley, and any of the schools in the Big Ten Conference (Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Penn State, etc) are all great choices for engineering.

Princeton Review has a tool where you can enter information about your background and interests — and it will give you a list of good colleges for you. The link is below.

Emory is good for engineering. Er…You could apply to MIT but you’ll really need to bring up your SAT score. I’m in the University of MIami, and the honors programs here are very good.

It’s now not a assurance that you’ll be able to be rejected. Work rough in your essay and your further-curriculars and, if relevant, the interview; persuade them that you are now not only a quantity and that you’ve got received some thing extraordinary you’ll deliver to the desk.
