Med School without the prereqs?
I teach English, but I also passed the state exam to also receive a credential in the Social Sciences and Earth Science.
My question is whether the prereqs for med school are a hard fast and set rule. I’m a good test taker and can study organic chemistry, calculus, and adv. bio. (the classes I didn’t take at univ) and still fo well. That is my main question. Is it necessary to take all the prereqs or will higher scores on the MCAT suffice?
Also, I have a BA in Linguistics and a MA in English.

Not to dash your dreams! It will be a long, sometimes hard road but if you are willing to commit to this, then this shows a person of strong character and powerful perserverance. Arm yourself with a strong support system! Be willing to fall sometimes, but do not be afraid to stand back up.
I wish you good luck, and may windows open when doors close. I wish you much success and happiness.
Bless you!
You may want to consider attending an offshore school that does not have to abide by these rules. There are four or five quality schools in the Caribbean (out of about 23) and completing your education through one of them will get you a MD license in the US or Canada.
You can research them at either StudentDoctor.net or ValueMD.com
Don’t let your age be a concern. I was 51 when I went back to med school.
