Oh, yes, they do. There will always be room for the written word and the need to transport written documents from one place to another is how business is done. In that respect, the post office, or something like it, will always exist because there will be a need for the service the post office provides. Paper is nonvolatile. Paper never forgets. Computers, unfortunately, can and do forget things if the power drops out. Paper is virtually maintenance-free. Computers will only take over when they are more reliable and durable and as maintenance-free as the printed word on a piece of paper. There is also a personal reason. Which would you rather receive? An email or a handwritten letter? I still write letters, in addition to email. I have an old-fashioned fountain pen and ink, and I use high quality paper and I write to my friends and family on a somewhat regular basis. A love letter loses something (a LOT!) in translation when it comes as email…

I think post offices are still important. Mails can be replaced by emails but the delivery of an object cannot be replaced by emails. It still has to go through the post office.

I would say YES for sure,,, I know many many people that still do not have a computer …Mostly older ones that need to rely on someone helping them with their mail . Also it is a place where many work and jobs are needed by these people to earn a living .

Of course, even though you can email. Not many people have that capability. Also email can not send a package.

Sure they do. Tell me how I’m supposed to get my packages shipped to me through email?
