Junior College vs. Art Institute?

I’m switching my majors to Graphic Design, and am currently attending a junior college. I have to start from scratch since I am changing from Politics to Graphic/Web design, so my question is: should I stay at my JC and go towards my bachelors (will probably take 4+ years total), or should I apply at the Art Institute? They have a great program, but their bachelor’s program costs $80,000+!!! It would take only 2 years to complete. Any suggestions? What should I do? I want to finish as fast as possible and want to get the maximum learning experience for this degree. Please help!

What a change!

If you are certain that this is what you want, and you think you can handle that sort of debt, then definitely the art institute. It will be catered to your needs, the junior college will not. I don’t doubt you will get a lot more from the program, and be a lot better at your job. There isn’t a huge market for graphic and web design, so you want to be the best of the best. If you really dedicate yourself, webmasters can make a lot of money at universities (but for the high paying positions, you have to be exceptional).

I say, if you are sure this is what you want, take the chance!
