Johns Hopkins?
So far I’m involved in soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, and the National Junior Honor Society.
Recentely, I’ve gotten chosen to attend the Johns Hopkins Talent Search. But I can’t do it because it cost $1,000 just to take the courses and it’s all around the country. My guidence consuler told me how even just putting the letter that I got chosen for the JHTS would look good on a college resume.
My overall average is a 95. And I am in High Honors at my school. I am only in one honors class, English, and I do really well in that class.
So I was wondering what other clubs or whatever I would need to join, for it to look good on my resume? And I know 8th grade is way to early to even be thinking about college but my dream is to go to JHU and I like to plan ahead because it keeps me motivated to do my best.

My advice for you is to be well rounded in high school, but make sure you have one or two things that you are really passionate and committed to. For me those two things were Latin Club (Studying the Classics) and Scientific Research (entered fairs). I placed highly in several state competitions several years in a row.
Get the book “Rock Hard Apps.” It helps you generate a better application. Spend time writing you essays. Get a high SAT score…preferably 2100 plus to be competitive. You want to be top 10 percent of your class and take plenty of AP or IBs …whatever they offer at your highschool. Get to know your teachers, so they will write you a kickass rec letter.
Yup that’s about it.
