Is University Residence a good idea?

I was wondering if university residenting a good idea, I live atleast 40 minutes from any Universities (im in canada), and in January and February, the weather gets really mad, wouldnt it be wiser to rez instead of living off campus. Also, gives you less distractions (I think), please voice your opinions.

A forty minute commute can be really hectic from time to time based on weather or traffic and can just be plain frustrating because you’re spending so much time to and from school. I think living on campus would be good because it gives you the chance to meet new people, the ability to get actively involved in your school, and that way you can’t deal with horrible weather or horrible traffic. Plus you won’t be super far from home so you could still visit as often as you’d like 🙂

The good things about living on campus:

Lots of people to study with.

It’s harder to miss class.

You meet more people.

The bad things about living on campus:

Lots of people to party with.

Sometimes the dorms are loud. You can get into an honor or study dorm that has more rules about how late visitors can stay and when the dorms must be quiet.
