Is anybody else nervous about starting college this week?
I move in tomorrow and then we have a few orientation activities over the weekend and then on Monday we go to classes but it’s really just going over class expectations and what not -so in only 4 days I start the real thing. I can’t believe that it’s already here, I mean your always use to going back to school during August, but not COLLEGE I mean this is what I’d like to call the “big leagues.” This is where your future is actually determined, and the friendships/bonds you make can actually last a lifetime- this is epic! I just wanted to share my feelings and see if anyone else feels the same way.

i know…it’s kind of scary and overwhelming. but i suppose take it one day at a time, and honestly, i wouldn’t stress about “epic” friendships. those just happen, don’t try too hard.
but yeah, good luck!

Hahahaha, you made me laugh for some reason. You make it sound so much bigger than it is. Or maybe it’s not out of proportion I don’t know- I start college the following week. Yeah I see what you’re saying-this time it’s college! Hard to believe right? Yeah I know what you’re feeling-I’m getting nervous too and about to move out with strangers. I do think there’s a bit too much pressure on our future here at this point in time though….about what you were saying that this is where you’re future is determined…
Good luck.

I’m glad to know that someone in the world shares the same feeling I ‘m having =)
I’m starting college real soon and in my case the pressure is doubled since I’m an international student. What if I don’t succeed? What if I flunk at classes? What if I don’t get a single thing my professor said?
Well, I admit that I’m scared. But at this late in the game, I couldn’t just call a time out and quit. Just have to brace myself and do it =)

Yes, this is the big leagues. I was literally shaking in my shoes when it came time to move in freshman year, and to be honest, freshman year was a really bad time for me…. But college will not kill you, unless you engage in some really stupid dangerous behavior. Those years in college will be very important for you… you may experience dramatic changes in your life that may affect your education. Nearly all of my friends have experienced a life-changing event that has almost forced them to drop out. There will be obstacles, emotional rollercoasters, high points and low points, but the important thing is to go along with the ride and finish until you get a degree. You will get a taste of the real world, compete with the best of the best, be exposed to all sorts of personalities (some you may find offensive or annoying, that’s life) have your limitations and notions of achievement shattered. It will only challenge you and make you stronger, more intelligent, and mold you into the person that you will be for the rest of your life, for better or for worse. Don’t fret, there’s nothing to be scared of. Just relax and get ready for the first day of the rest of your life.

My stomach is in knots! I move into my dorm next weekend and then classes start on the 27th. I’m nervous because I don’t know if my roommates and I are going to get along (last year I dealt with the whole bitchy roommate thing that I don’t want to repeat). I’m nervous about the classes I need to take and the schedule I want but can’t quite have… The whole major thing has been weighing on me pretty heavily lately… ugh… knots….

Dont worry youre not lone in feeling nervous. I’m 22 and going to college for the first time and I am super nervous….and I’m not even the nervous type. YIKES!!! Most people tell me I shouldne worry because most of the students will want to hang out with m bcause I’m older but I dunno, it’s still scary nonetheless. To top it all off, it’s only a community college. All us Freshies will make it through together!!! Good Luck!!!
