Im thinking of joining a respiratory care program to become a respiratory therapist…?

Is there anyone out there who has gone through the training for this who can give me some insight as to what I’ll be taking on. It seems like a really great field.. But how will I know if Im ready for such a hard field of study. I’ve been in college for 3 years now.. Im ready for something … but am i ready for this?

This is a vast area. At one end there is the home care systems that help asthmatics and others to lead a near normal life. At the other end there are complete computerized life support systems for the very critically ill where breath-to-breath monitoring is involved. In between there are emergency, ambulance mounted systems, specialty systems for mines and hazardous locations, high altitudes, deep diving and many more.

It is a fascinating arduous field, but no more difficult than many other health care activities.

You should be able to cope up with the training.
