absolutely,

No matter what you can put in a year or two of community college and tranfer, or if you did well at all on your act/sat most in-state colleges and even some out of state colleges will definately accept you. Do some good in your community and put it on your application. There is so much more to college acceptance than just GPA

One choice you have is to attend a community college for two years and try to transfer to a 4-year university since you can enter with any GPA. This way, you start with a clean slate and give yourself a second chance. Since they accept everyone, there is no need to apply to community colleges until you decide to go with this option.

If you want to attend a 4-year university right out of high school, there are schools out there that are less competitive but still offer pretty good all-around education. You just have to do the research.

With good SAT scores you could get in somewhere. Or you could always start out at a community college or junior college. They have open admission and if you make good grades there, you can transfer to a 4 year university and your degree will be from the 4 year.

I would stay you have half a year and one more year to get your crap together. Get to class EVERYDAY. Attendance is huge. Study and stay focused on your goal. 2.4 doesn’t happen unless you are slacking off and missing a ton of school. Pay attention to your teachers. Get the most of our your education, now and through college.

the answer is yes

try to raise your score, study for your SAT

There are many things college look for in a student beside GPA and SAT score. for example extra curricular activities is very important, do you work to help your families?

If you write a very strong college essay

PS… apply to a community as your safety net, you can raise your GPA after a year and transfer to a 4 years school

You may want to read this:

http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/aplusrankindex_brief.php

It talks about “A+ Options for B Students.” If you could raise your GPA just a little this year and next, that could be you!

Good luck, and don’t give up!

You still have a little time try to increase that GPA up to a 2.6. But do well on the SAT or ACT and you should be fine.
