If ISBN #’s vary just a little is it still the same textbook?

I want to buy my books as half.com but how do I know if it IS the book? The picture, title, edition and authors are right but the last couple isbn #’s are different. Is this common? Thanks!

NO, the isbn is like the finger print of a book. they are completely different for every book. if they are close like the other posters said…it could be a different edition, but wouldnt that still be the wrong book for your class??

I’d agree with most of the responses. Similar but different ISBN #s can be a different edition. In some instances, there are some bundles that come with the book (ie: Course packs, kits, answer booklets). In this case, the textbook alone may have a similar ISBN to the textbook that was bundled with a course pack.

sometimes. it depends where the # is differant! for example is the isbn of an art history book is 111 222 334, a differant addition of that same book MIGHT be 111 222 333. it probably is NOT 112 222 334.

That happened to me before and it ended up being a different edition because the copyright date was different. I would not buy it if I was you.
