2.When your pre-med you have to declare a major as well. You actually can choose whatever major you want (yes even drama) but it’s better of course to major in a science and in your case Biology would be a good one (chemistry and psychology are cool too). Not only will it help you with being a surgeon, but also with the MCATS.
3. The MCAT is an 8 hour test you take to enter into medical school after your four years of undergraduate college. This is where the science major you have picked may come in serious handy! If you choose English, just means you have to study EVEN HARDER then you already had to being a science major.
Being pre-med biology, you would take numerous biology courses(because that’s your major) as well as the chemistry’s, anatomy’s and such that you have to take as prereq’s unto medical school as a pre-medical student. I don’t know personally about the residency part, but my friend was a doctor (at 26yrs old) before she past away, and her last two years of medical school she interned….after which she became a resident upon graduation.
