I’m be a college freshman soon, I’m wondering what types of school stuff college students use?
or do they just use their laptops as their notebook.

All in all, college note taking is not much different than high school note taking. You just have to write much faster and discern what is important and what is not.
I think notebooks or binders are just fine. I think this is a matter of personal preference. Also, I think this depends on what type of class you’re taking. Would you want to take class notes on a sheet of paper and then add it to the binder? Or do you just prefer to use a notebook? Or do you prefer to type your class notes direct on to a computer while in class session?
As for other materials like: pens, pencils, eraser, calculator, ruler, printer, paper, white-out, post-its, sharpies… In this sense, its just like the typical high school materials. =) Hope this all helps.
As for laptops, that is up to you. If you can afford it and you think you REALLY will use it to write down notes, then go for it. Most people I know just use to chat with their friends instead of taking notes. Not conducive to studying.
Also, pick up some folders to pack old exams or essays. You never know who might need them to study with later.
In my experience, I would prefer loose paper and a three ring binder for each subject. Or one giant binder for all your classes. Or five subject notebooks are also very useful, then you can keep all your notes together.
And it also depends on what the instructor wants as far as supplies.
I think spirals are the most widely used item though. Have fun and good luck
