Try to get into a 4 year program, it will make you more money, and give you a better education. 2 years will give you more hands on but its because everything is sped up, and if you do that your chance of passing the board exam is not as likely.

2 year programs do NOT give you more hands on experience, they just get to the clinical work sooner due to it being a 2 year program. A four year school has more time to focus on theory.

If you are already in your sophomore year you should be starting your clinical rotations in the spring. Since you are already there, you might as well just follow through.

If you do transfer, be careful. Look at the colleges Nursing Board Pass rate. Many two year programs pass rates are low. You don’t want to end up going to a 2 yr. school to get your RN sooner, only end up failing your boards. Then you would have to take classes to learn how to pass the boards, and this would take time.

What is the rush. There will be plenty of time to confront death and dying head on, not to mention the difficult patients and family members.
