I would strongly suggest reviewing the archives for this listserve. Many AKA members have answered this questions and many similar to it. Your first place to look should be our website: www.aka1908.org. I hope I’m not appearing rude; however, our website lists the answer to your question. AKA requires a C+ average and your GPA is well above that requirement. I hope all works out well for you. Best regards . . .

Fabulous!
I am not a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha but your GPA exceeds the national requirement, just check to see what the requirement is at your college, because certain schools set the requirement higher than the national average. There are other factors to consider when pursuing membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha such as high moral values, community involvement, school activity etc. I would recommend you getting involve as much as possible (if you haven’t already) at your school and get to know the members in the chapter you wish to join. Good luck with your pursuits.

Absolutely. However, consider the fact that during the semester when you join, you’re extra-curricular activities may just bring your grades down a little, although some people actually do better academically during that semester. Just consider that if you decide to pledge, because your last 60 hours (i.e. junior and senior year) will be highly considered by graduate schools if you want to go to grad school in the future. Good luck.
