I am having a problem graduating from college anyone in this situation before?
I am having a big time problem!! I was told that my GPA is too low to graduate , but not until two weeks ago. Has anyone had a problem with this and been made an exception from their school.

In 28 years of teaching, I’ve never heard of a school making an exception on this. This can’t have come as a complete surprise; surely you knew that your grades were marginal before you were told that you weren’t graduating? You need to retake some classes to bring your grades up to graduation standard.

Retake the classes you earned Ds in. If it is a problem with your major, you may have to change. If it is a general problem it won’t be quite as tough to bring it up. They won’t make an exception at any US school. Talk to the dean about your options (DO NOT ask for an exception to be made). Tell the dean or your advisor you want to fix your grades and improve and ask what options you have.
By the way, some of the confusion here may be that In the US, you can’t graduate with a D average (in other countries there is no such thing as a D grade, you pass or you don’t).

There is no such GPA that is too low to graduate. You either earn the credits for passing a course, or you do not earn the credits because you failed. Your GPA is separate and only demonstrates your academic achievement during your college career. Every degree has a required number of earned credits and courses that you must take. Your problem may be that you failed certain courses that you are required to pass and are therefore missing certain credits.
GPA should not prevent you from graduating, but a very poor GPA can be a problem when you are looking for work and they ask to see your transcripts.
I have been working in universities for the last 10 years and can’t imagine why you have been told this. Talk to your academic adviser or someone in your department about your graduation requirements and where you stand. I am sure they can clear this up for you.

This could be the case. Generally, the minimum requirements to graduate are a 2.00 in your major courses (and these don’t include prerequisite courses to the major) and a 2.00 overall GPA. To solve this problem (if it is a problem with your overall GPA, and not your major courses), just take a lot of easy classes this year so that you can make easy A’s and B’s. This will pull up your GPA significantly. If it is in your major, I don’t know what you can do. Go talk to your academic adviser for more details.

I have never heard of this either. You either pass a course or you don’t. You either get an incomplete or a failing grade. I suggest you look at those classes that you got bad grades in or the incompletes are retake those courses to bring up your grade point average. Why would they want to give you a diploma if you haven’t passed the classes with a descent grade.
