How do you prevent your laptop getting stolen in college?

Placing passwords on your laptop would be the best way to protect your information after it has been stolen. A standard password at Windows loading is important but not perfect. A hard drive password is the best way of protecting your computer after theft. Without knowing the password you cannot even load windows.

That’s why I try not to bring my laptop to campus or if I do then I am always within arm’s reach of it.
I know it is an inconvenience but I know at least a couple of dozen people who had stuff stolen while they where on campus like Ipods, TI-89’s, Laptops, Books, Cellphones, purses, wallets, etc.
I would suggest that you take your laptop everywhere you go. It’s not all that much trouble….
