Generally you would be teaching in a community or junior college. You could be a graduate assistant and a college or university and teach classes while working on your PhD. You would get paid and a discount on your classes.

It depends on the college and the subject. Most universities reqire a doctorate or substantial progress towards a doctorate, but in Texas, community colleges accept a master’s degree in the field of your teaching assignment or a master’s degree in any field plus 18 graduate hours in the field of the teaching assignment. This applies towards most academic subjects.

Actually with a BA degree and some extra studies you can teach college. But it will be Lower Division stuff.

Yes, it is true. You can teach at a 4 year college as an adjunct (which is a part time or as needed basis, not a full time professor).

Yes, but not in the better colleges… There you will need to have your PhD. However, some colleges/universities will allow you to start, depending upon your discipline and their needs at the time, so long as you strive for the PhD in the near future.

At the Community College level, there is a possibility…at a 4-year level, very remote – unless you are part-time.
