How do I determine if my Masters of Biotechnology will be worth the cost?
(I am between Philly and North Jersey, if that helps.)

The reality is that there is no way of accurately forecast this without solid statistics about the industry and what jobs and pay scales there are. And even at that; it’s a gamble. You are engaged in a risk vs. reward equation.
For example, there are direct costs of school and the interest on the loan. If these total $50000, but you are able to make $10K more a year for the next 5 years, then it seems like a good bet.
But you also must think about how you feel. Part of the reward is not about money, but about how accomplished you feel getting to study in the field you like.
Biotech is a hot field right now. Given that you are going to have to shell out for additional education no matter what if you want to stick with biology related fields, I’d say go for it.
If you could somehow develop a cloned cross between the highly endangered grey-backed springbok, and the rare spotted swamp moose, then after building a stable gene pool in a domestic environment, market the prodigy to say, McDonald’s, that would be a thing.
Just kidding, hope you sort it.
