How can I wow my class?
I have a presentation due on the criticism of a book for my college English class. Powerpoint is overdone…what can I do to be different? I don’t want it to be boring.

If your doing the presentation with a group of people you could do a little role play of some of the most important parts?
Or you could do whats called a mood board. Have little pictures representing different sections of the book and you place them on either the “good” mood board or the “bad” moodboard. So that by the end of the pres you have two poster type things covered in pictures representing your views on the book?

I would say that if you have creative flare I would say a story board would be great. This way you can wow you’re class by finding different pictures that represent the feelings you are trying to interpret from the story. Find one of your dorm mates that scapbooks and they’ll be able to help you with the cutting of the pictures. I’m sure that you can print off internet pictures and make a great presentation and have it be visually interesting to other students.

Do a lot of research on the subject & present many facts as possible.Try to think of yourself as a book critic and make the whole thing very satirical.. plus funny.

Mix it up – power point is effective if used correctly – graphics, videos, charts, ect. can all be incorporated into ppt.
Try using handouts, use an overhead, use hands-on things. That usually grabs people’s attention.
Be active and get the audience involved. Use “good” humor too.
Do not be monotone and do not read everything word-for-word off your notes. That will bore them.
