Is a school/college year group the “class of” the year it started at the school or the year it left?
So did the “class of 2000” leave the college in the year 2000 or did it start its time at the school in the year 2000?

Your “class of” would be the year that you graduated. I am a “Class of 2005” student because I graduated high school in 2005.
