what does Division/ Classification/ Cause and Effect mean when your writting about a hero in a essay? please help

Division. Divide the heros deeds into catagories, such as, bravery, altruism, strength, etc.
Cause/Effect. What drives the hero. They are either a) being proactive or b) being reactive. They are responding to a crisis (effect) or trying to change the world (cause). What drives them? Why do they do what they do?
