medical college?

I live in Montana and was wondering if anyone could give me a list of some medical colleges that are within one to two states and are not extremely expensive.

Montana residents can recieve instate status through the WICHE and WAMME programs. That means you can get instate admission at UWashington, OHSU, UofU, and maybe Unevada. That having been said, there are many more private universities with medical schools which have no instate-out of state requirements or preferences.

Expense is immaterial because you will be able to repay the loans. Unless you’re independantly wealthy, you will have to borrow a lot of money to go. It would be wise to apply to as many medical schools as you can afford/reasonably expect to get in to rather than limit yourself to the few that I listed. After all, you can always move back to montana to practice.

note: US schools only require upfront payment if you’re not a US citizen or are a foreign student. Otherwise it’s pay as you go just like any college. The same is true for US students trying to go to school in canada (eg McGill)

Medical school is probably the most expensive of all educational programs. At most medical schools they require you to make an up-front payment for tuition for the entire 4-5 years you will be there, because they want to guarantee that you will be able to complete the program as a full time student without having to work at a job that may take time away from coursework.

If you are interested in nursing that is not nearly so bad, you can go to community college, you make pretty good money, and it’s not as stressful a job.
