It’s a building where you can go on campus; they generally have lots of facilities for students, such as cafeterias, study areas, recreation, areas for performers, even things like travel agencies, attorneys, and counseling. Most have a bookstore as well, and things like dry-cleaning, hair salons, a post office, coffee shops, and similar services. They’re sort of a town center for a campus, and every one is a little different, but they’re all relaxed and usually pretty comfortable places to be.

Blaire, it’s a public area designated for multiple student uses–but not classrooms or offices. It often holds dining facilities, the post office, plenty of lounging area, maybe a pool table or other games, like that.

Stop in and look around. It’s for all students.
