Graduating early, moving out of country?

Okay this is like the 80th question I have made about this topic but I still need help. I want to graduate early and move to England but I’m afraid I won’t be able to do that. How in the world will I be able to get a job or get an apartment or anything being my first time on my own…in a foreign country? I really want to do it but I am scared I won’t be able to. Any advice, not about not graduating early. I am going to graduate early, I need advice on how I am going to move to England and be able to do the things I listed above while going to college. Please and thank you!

First, it is not an easy thing to simply move to a country and expect to live and work. I have lived and worked overseas (Japan & Australia) for the last 10 years or so. You cannot simply move to England, rent a flat and go out and get a job. You need a visa. Moreover, you need a visa that permits you to work full-time, and this will also be for a fixed term; not a permanant move.

In order to receive a visa that permits you to work full-time is even trickier. See, you will need to demonstrate to the English government that you have a special skill or expertise that no one in England has. You are not allowed to take a job away from a person in the country that could manage working in the job. They too have unemployment problems and do not open their doors freely to anyone from outside the country to come in and take their jobs away.

So good luck with your plan. You will need to do some work evaluating your skills and deciding how to best go about getting your visa. I reccommend trying to get a job in the UK before you go there. If you have a company that is willilng to sponsor your visa application because they want to hire you, you have a much better chance of success. This is how I managed to secure my positions. Or you could marry an English person.

Good luck!

Getting a job in a foreign country is ridiculously difficult, especially just going it alone. I didn’t do this, but a friend of mine did…I think you have to have attended college for at least one semester prior to going overseas.
