going to college?

I’m going to be living there this Sunday. 😮

it’s finally sunk in, I can’t believe it.

any advice out there?

1.are there things I should bring that you forgot.

2. I’m going up with one of my best friends, we are in different dorms, what’s going to happen with the relationship between us? I know know one knows but if you gone threw it you can tell me about it.

3. do you end up being the same person you were in High school or do you change?

4. how soon should I get a job? I’m going to have to pay all these loans off some day, but my mom wants me to get to know my school first.

thanks.

College is a fun adventure. You’ll soon find that things do change, but not fundamentally.

The biggest thing that people forget are the small things: shampoo, toothbrush, socks…

Even if your relationship with your friend changes, if you are close, you will remain good friends. It will help to have a friend in another dorm as she will be able to introduce to you to more people. Don’t worry about it.

Most people change, at least a little, while in college. It is not like high school. The same groups don’t seem to exist and there are far more people like you than there were in high school.

As for a job, looking for one towards the end of the first year is probably a good idea. Although it may sound silly, sometimes an internship, even an unpaid one, can lead to better career positions outside of college which would allow you to pay off loans faster.

Good luck and have fun! College is a blast.

Try not to work when your are in school unless it’s a cush job that lets you study.

You know. Hotel desk clerk. Locked lobby guard.

Sometimes the college will give you a job. A friend of mine was the help desk at the computer center and most of the time he just read.

College is vastly different from high school

3 hours work for each 1 hour of class minimum.

They like to see overacheivers.

Dorm life is going to party time. Beer bongs on Friday Night.

But make sure you get your work done!

You pay your loans off after you graduate or after grad school when you get a decent job.
