dropping a class?

i am really thinking of dropping a class that i am taking for dual credit (i’m a senior in high school) through a college. i was sick for 1.5 weeks and am trying to get my makeup done. however, i can’t get it done because i have the dual credit course (classical mythology) that i have to keep up with and it is taking up most of my time and i am still behind in my reading. so now i have 6 classes that i’m falling behind in (the makeup is the only way to understand what we are doing now) because of one. will it look really bad if i ask to drop the class? i am planning on going to a community college that is open admission so it shouldn’t really matter there.

Drop it – I would rather drop 1 class than fail 6 others.

As long as the rest of your academic grades are okay, dropping a class is not going to hurt you. If prospective colleges are concerned, you can always explain the situation.

Yes, you should drop it. Will it affect you much. Probably not. No gpa hit with a W. However, take this as a lesson for your future studies. Be careful with how much course loadwork you can really take while getting the type of grade you come to expect. Too many W’s can adversely affect you in the future if you plan to attend any type of grad school.

I would say drop it. They might give you a certain deadline to do it. after that, apply for a withdrawal grade.
