Does UC Riverside allow self-created majors?

Their website says nothing about it. I emailed admissions about it and was just referred back to the website. That’s why I’m asking here.

Yes.

See the general catalog at: http://www.catalog.ucr.edu/UCR_Catalog_0708.pdf on page 54

Interdisciplinary, Individual Majors

Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences Interdisciplinary Major offers courses of broad interest, and students with interests not readily satisfied through existing departments and programs may develop individual majors under the direction of special faculty sponsors. The consent of the Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences Interdisciplinary Program Cmmittee and the associate dean are required. The title of the major will be entered on the official degree list and on the official transcript. Diplomas will read “Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences Interdisciplinary” with the individual field of concentration specified.

LMAO! Why are you going to a college to study something that they DON’T offer? seriously, they have a menu that you order from, just like a restaurant. You can’t order sushi from a burger place just like you can’t create your own major at a university that has it’s own programs.
