There’s a possibility that you could go to both high school and college at the same time. However, it is often difficult to juggle both. There is a National program called “Running Start”. It is where exceptional high school students are permitted to take college coursework after qualifying for admission to the program. There is a GPA requirement as well as consent from your parent(s) your high school and letters of recommendation. See if there are colleges in your area who participate.

Check the attached link for information specific to Portland Community College.

As for paying for your tuition. They have a program where they only charge you a $35 dollar fee instead of the per credit tuition charge. Specific restrictions apply. Refer to the attached link:

Talk to your parents about your desire to start college early. If they say that it’s okay, talk to your high school counselor about the possibility of getting dual credit for both high school and college.

Best wishes!
