Yes, the difference about a vocational school, and two or four year college, is that they concentrate strictly on what you want to do. If you are studying to become an accountant they only deal with what you have to know to do that job. They don’t spend a great deal of time on subjects that do not pertain to the job. A vocational job can get you into a career faster, but in the long run you may be held back from some positions because you don’t have a Associates or Bachelors degree in the field.

I went to a vocational school, and after 2 years, I was basically familiar with the ‘lingo’ of the trade. Once I got a job in the field, I realized it was a whole new story. But I guess it did help me get my foot in the door, even though I later changed trades.

I myself have undergone a vocational course at honours level Vocational Course imparts practical knowledge which if backed up by proper theory can prove useful
