Colleges care about senior year?

Im still working hard to get good grades my senior year, but the thing is im looking to see if they care about the classes you take. Here is my schedule…

1. Health Essentials (its like a medical asst. class since I plan on becoming a nurse)

2. Poli Sci (ACP program- a prof. from a local community college comes to our school to teach us)

3. AP English Lit.

4. French 5-6

5. Journalism (as an editor)

6. Library

Im afraid that I might seem too lazy. The thing is my school doesnt offer many honors classes as a senior. Its either you take AP or regular, and of course AP is a real big challenge so I didn’t want to take too much on. But should I take another challenging class? I can still switch into AP Calculus. But the thing is I was going to use my free time to do more community service and volunteer work. Any suggestions?

It really depends on what college you’re going to, but ivy leagues actually do act for current status on the student, espectially regarding the AP courses.

But as long it doesn’t reflect a huge difference it shouldn’t really matter, what I mean is if you were an A student and suddenly you’re getting C’s and D’s, that’s not going to help you out at all. I’ve actually seen students denied their acceptances right before they graduated highschool leaving them no where to attend the fall semester

yes, they will definitely consider you for admission. Junior year counts the most. If you get accepted in the fall of your senior year, you’re pretty much set and don’t have to worry anymore, cuz even though colleges say they care about your senior year they really don’t ever look at it. If they ask you to send your senior grades because they’re not sure yet whether they want to admit you, you need to buckle down and get on those books.
