In High School there were too many restrictions because of my younger age. At College I was my own man. I loved college.

I have a bachelors degree and am now working on a Masters. I’m having a hard time making ends meet. But I would not give up my college background for anything because it has taught me so much and most importantly the ability to think and analyze. It is a tough economy out there. The old rules do not seem to apply. You do not need a college education but it is recommended. However, it is not worth going into debt for. I am going into debt with my masters but I think that I will be able to pay it back because of my next chosen field (accounting). My husband has had some college courses and is in a trade that pays well. He makes more than I do. But it’s very hard to keep up because the costs of living have increased tremendously over the past few years. It’s kind of scarey because I wonder what does the future hold and what will retirement be like because how will we be able to save enough for that time? We aren’t planning to retire but what if illness or sudden accident occurs and then what? I don’t understand why more Americans insist on taking care of it themselves. It seems most of us will not be able to do it. Do they think that their lives aren’t worth anything? Do they want to risk everything they have worked hard for? I don’t. I think we should do something collectively so that we all have some sense of security. It will do a lot to restore confidence, credibility, and security.

I hated high school because I was so bored with everything. Honestly, I found high school harder than college. I guess it’s because i’m taking classes that I enjoy but it’s so much easier than staying in school for 8 hours and then having to do homework. I enjoy having two exams and being done with the class forever after 4 months.

Yes, being an adult is harder but you could always live with your parents and commute? I LOVE the freedom and the responsibility

College without a doubt. The material in college is a lot more stringent, but a small price to pay for the independence of choosing when to have lecture, whether you even feel like going to lecture, and the atmosphere of a college. Also, that delay before having to face the real world head on is nice.

I love college because the education I get here is specialized and I’m doing something I’m interested in. Friends-wise, I had a tight group of (mix group – males & females) friends in high school and I was so active in choir and student council. In college, I’m in an all-female “clique”. I am in the Toastmasters Club and the hockey team but after all this, I’m going to say that I had the most fun in high school 🙂

I was pretty content with high school, but i still like college much more. What everyone says about the freedom and stuff is true. It’s just exciting to see that there is more to the world beyond high school, because sometimes it seemed like it would never end.
