Affirmative Action: how much of a difference do you think it will make while applying to this school?

One school im applying to has like a 3.5-3.6 gpa average, however, i have a 3.1 average, maybe looking at a 3.2-3.3 by the time I apply. I will be applying as “african american”, to this school which only has 5 % “african american” students at the current time. Do you think this will help me at all?

If 3.5-3.6 is the average, then they obviously take people below that range, and it probably has nothing to do with affirmative action. There is no way of knowing if marking yourself as an African American will help you get into the school or not.

Try raising your GPA instead–you’re making black folks look bad and reinforcing stereotypes.
