Leadership Ideas for a Pre-Med Student?

Hi,

Could you please provide some examples of what med schools would like to see when it comes to leadership opportunities?

Specifically, what type of activities would be “good” or activities that you would recommend?

FYI: Currently I am a 2nd year undergrad student.

SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY, PLEASE!

Many Thanks,

Andrew

As someone who works for the academic side of medicine, I can recommend that the following activities be considered:

1. Volunteerism in some sort of civic or medical event (i.e. like helping out at a blood drive, or community service).

2. Any type of club leadership, such as student government.

3. Tutoring. This is a big plus for leadership activity b/c it shows medical schools you give of your time to help others academically.

I hope this helps! Good luck.

I could seem into Hospice. In the long run you’re going to must objectify with the intention to participate in your activity. It could be well to revel in the human facet of working towards remedy earlier than you have got to flip your feelings off.
