What’s a great way of finding out if a teacher will write you a great college recommendation?

Without outright asking them, if they will say that you’re an amazing student?

Talk to your guidance counselor about who you should ask. They are normally the ones who have the final signature on all of your college things that get sent from your high school, and I know at my school they read the teacher recommendations and get a good feel for what certain teachers write. Hope that helps

Most teachers will write a good letter of recommendation if you have been a good student. This doesn’t always mean good grades. I take respect and effort into consideration as well. If you feel like you know this teacher and have behaved well in class, you should feel confident that he or she will write you a good letter.

Most students should be able to tell whether they’re going to get a good recommendation or not, based on grades, and how they relate in class. I had a teacher who said he would never write a bad recommendation. However, he would write a letter that said “To whom it may concern: I taught so and so at whatever school in such and such a year.” Then sign his name. He said they would get the picture.

Just talk with the teacher – tell him/her that you are applying to a school (tell the name) and how excited you are about it. Ask him or her if they have any suggestions about the application process and he/she will probably even make an offer to write this for you – if not just ask for the recommendation (if the conversation is friendly and going well) – otherwise you will never know.

If you are a good student then the only way to know is to ask them. You know your progress and you know which teachers you have a good relationship with. Nobody can tell you if they will write you a good reccomendation other than them.
